Martin A. Schaeffer, MD, FAAPMR, AQPM
Dr. Schaeffer is a triple board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine who brings a uniquely personal, patient-centered approach to spine and pain care. After an early setback—failing to make his sixth-grade Staten Island basketball team due to limited jumping ability and speed—Dr. Schaeffer redirected his determination toward medicine. Seventeen years later, that perseverance led him to become a highly respected specialist in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Interventional Pain Management.
Dr. Schaeffer co-founded CNY Spine and Pain Medicine, LLC with a clear mission: to preserve the freedom to spend meaningful time with each patient and provide truly individualized care. He believes every patient’s condition and goals are unique, and he takes pride in developing customized treatment plans while building strong, open relationships through thoughtful conversation and education.
